PPA S.A. continues to invest systematically in the sustainable development and modernization of the Port of Piraeus by integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles into its corporate strategy and operations. In this context, the Company has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, prepared in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), providing a transparent overview of its performance, initiatives and objectives across the three pillars of sustainability.
Throughout 2025, PPA S.A. implemented a series of key initiatives that further strengthened its responsible business strategy, contributing to the development of a modern and resilient growth model.
Under the Social pillar, the concession fee paid to the Greek State exceeded €9 million in 2025, while donations and sponsorships under the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme amounted to more than €730,000.
During 2025, PPA S.A. also held the first award ceremony for the “Kunpeng Scholarship”, granting scholarships to ten first-year university students from neighboring municipalities. In addition, the Company distributed 5,000 Christmas gift vouchers to children from the local community and to the families of employees working in the ship repair sector.
As part of its commitment to safeguarding the rights of all passengers, PPA S.A. collaborated with the Institute of the National Confederation of Disabled People & People with Chronic Diseases (IN-ESAmeA) to deliver a specialized training programme on assisting passengers with disabilities, chronic conditions and reduced mobility. More than 1,000 Company employees participated in the programme.
Under the Environmental pillar, following the introduction of Greece’s first National Climate Law and the issuance of the Company’s new Environmental Terms Approval Decision, PPA S.A. completed the Climate Change Vulnerability and Adaptation Study for the Port of Piraeus. In parallel, the implementation of a Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Action Plan covering the entire port area is underway.
Under the Governance pillar, PPA S.A. further embedded sustainability objectives into its corporate strategy, incorporated sustainability criteria into its Procurement Regulation, and implemented dedicated sustainability training programmes for both management and employees.
PPA S.A.’s consistent commitment to sustainability and operational excellence was further reflected in the distinctions it received during 2025. These included its recognition as “Industry Leader – Port Organizations” at the Protagonists of the Greek Economy Awards, the 2nd Best Public Utility Company Award at the HRIMA Business Awards 2025, three distinctions at the Compliance Awards 2025 (Gold for Best Compliance Team in the Port Services Sector, Gold for Most Impactful Social Initiative, and Bronze for Best Compliance Management), as well as its recognition, for the fourth consecutive year, as “One of the Most Sustainable Companies in Greece by QualityNet Foundation”. Of particular importance was also the ESG Leading Award distinction at the Diamonds of the Greek Economy 2025 – ESG Awards, organized by Naftemporiki.
